October 20, 2018What a huge day for Chris Dobey! The Team Unicorn star has made absolutely certain of his place at the World Championship after his best performance for seven months. The 28-year-old reached the final of Players Championship 21 in Barnsley on Saturday. Unfortunately he lost 6-2 to Krzysztof Ratajski in the final but it was great to see Dobey playing the darts we all know he can once again. In other Team Unicorn news, Michael Smith has equalled his career high in the World rankings. He is now back

October 19, 2018Mark McGeeney and Cameron Menzies are the latest two stars to join the world’s top darts team. McGeeney was two darts away from winning this year’s Lakeside Championship, while Menzies is being tipped for big things over the next few years. The pair are part of the Dunvegan Darts team - the same darting stable as Team Unicorn stars Gary Anderson, Michael Smith, Ian White, Chris Dobey and Adam Hunt. The move further cements the relationship between the two companies. Dunvegan MD is Tommy Gilmour MBE:

October 14, 2018James Wade celebrated the birth of his son with a superb run to the final of the European Darts Trophy. The Team Unicorn star and wife Samantha have just welcomed son Arthur into the world, but it was back to business for Wade in Germany. He eventually lost out 8-3 in the final to Michael van Gerwen who claimed an 8th Euro Tour victory of the year. Wade’s run to the final means he will be the 6th seed at the European Championship in Dortmund at the end of the month and he will have a tough 1st Round

October 09, 2018Team Unicorn Japanese star Seigo Asada is heading back to the Alexandra Palace. The 38-year-old from Osaka won the PDC Japan qualifier in Tokyo. He would have qualified anyway through the Asian Tour Order of Merit, where he is currently in second spot. But nobody could stop him in the Japanese qualifier at the weekend. He beat Shingo Enomata 5-1 in the final. Remember Seigo put up a terrific performance pushing Rob Cross all the way at this year’s World Championship. This weekend sees the final weekend

October 02, 2018He really is in a rich vein of form and Gary Anderson has raced through to the World Grand Prix quarter-finals. He taught Jeffrey de Zwaan a harsh lesson in their all Unicorn 2nd Round clash in Dublin on Tuesday night. Anderson lost only one leg in the match and will now face defending WGP champion Daryl Gurney in the last eight. “It was tough for Jeffrey but he will be a top player in the future,” Gary said. “But things are ok at the moment. I have to keep focused and keep performing.” The Scot

October 02, 2018Ian White is into the 2nd Round at the World Grand Prix but Team Unicorn stablemates Michael Smith and James Wade fell at the first hurdle in Dublin. Wade slumped to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Mensur Suljovic, while Smith lost a thriller to Adrian Lewis in the best match of the 1st Round. White actually made hard work of beating youngster Josh Payne. It was a lot closer than the two sets to nil scoreline suggests. Three 180s took him to the first set and he won the first leg of the second set with

October 01, 2018So it will be an all-Unicorn 2nd Round clash between Gary Anderson and Jeffrey de Zwaan at the World Grand Prix on Tuesday. Anderson swept aside Welshman Jonny Clayton despite his troublesome back and De Zwaan got the better of Kim Huybrechts in their all Unicorn affair on the opening night. But sadly Joe Cullen is on his way home after losing to Dutchman Ron Meulenkamp. De Zwaan was sensational again. Put him on a big stage in a TV ‘Major’ and he comes alive. He blew ‘The Hurricane’ away in just

September 29, 2018Team Unicorn ace Ian White enjoyed yet another superb day on the PDC Pro Tour but just came up short at the second Players Championship event in Dublin on Saturday. But White will go into the World Grand Prix in high spirits despite going down 6-4 in the final to Dutchman Danny Noppert who claimed his first PDC title at the City West Hotel. He will disappointed because he played so well all day. However his run to the final sees White back up to top spot in the Players Championship Order of Merit

September 28, 2018It was a landmark day in the career of Team Unicorn Latvian star Madars Razma. He turned 30 this week and celebrated by winning through to the Players Championship Final in Dublin on Friday. Razma enjoyed a magical day before he was edged out by German ace Max Hopp 6-3 at the City West Hotel. It was his first PDC final but the £6,000 prize money he earned has taken Razma to the cusp of World Championship qualification through the Pro Tour Order of Merit. He must like the Irish air! 12 months ago
