Team Unicorn star Michael Smith will play at the UK Open in Minehead after being rushed to hospital this week.
He will also line up against Raymond van Barneveld as he seeks a first Premier League win in Exeter.
Smith needed an emergency procedure at Whiston Hospital near his St Helens home on Monday to remove an abscess from his groin.
“It was nasty and was getting bigger,” he said. “I know I should have got it checked out earlier because it has been there for a few weeks.”

Unicorn star Gary Anderson has pledged to do all he can to win back-to-back UK Open titles.
He will return to action on Friday night in Minehead despite a long standing back injury which forced him to withdraw from the 2019 Premier League.
His last competitive action came in the semi-finals of the World Championship when he lost to Michael Van Gerwen two months ago.
Anderson has been receiving intensive treatment and will have to pick and choose his tournaments as he bids to get back on track.

Japanese darting star Seigo Asada is off and running at the the 2019 PDC Asian Tour.
The Unicorn ace won event four on home soil in Kobe after just missing out in the final of event three!
Asada saw off Hong Kong’s Royden Lam 5-3 in the final to claim his first Asian Tour victory of the year as he bids to qualify for the World Championship again.
The top four from the Asian Tour Order of Merit will claim prized spots at the Ally Pally. Asada had a tough route to victory. He beat Lourence Ilagan 5-4

NINE new names will replace the injured Gary Anderson in the opening nine nights of the 2019 Unibet Premier League.
Amongst the nine, will be Team Unicorn youngsters Chris Dobey, Jeffrey de Zwaan and World Youth Champion Dimitri Van den Bergh, who will all now play a part in a new look Premier League for 2019.
Chris Dobey will be the hometown hero in Newcastle on the opening night where he will take on Mensur Suljovic.

GARY ANDERSON has withdrawn from the 2019 Unibet Premier League due to a back injury.
Former Premier League Champion and Team Unicorn star Anderson, has been undergoing treatment on his back since his exit at the World Championship at the end of December.
The Scot, who was also absent from the Masters at the weekend, has now withdrawn from the Premier League campaign on medical advice.
“I’m sorry to the fans that I won’t be there this year, I’m as gutted as anybody to have to miss out,” said Anderson.

James Wade’s brave bid to win the Masters crown for a second time was halted by Michael van Gerwen in the final.
The World Champion claimed a 5th straight Masters title in Milton Keynes on Sunday night.
He’s now beaten Wade in all 11 finals the pair have played.
The big moment in the Final came in the 8th leg. Wade missed three darts to make it four apiece and the Dutchman pounced.
He broke throw, took out 124 on the bull for a second time and then hit a superb 170 finish.
