Michael van Gerwen's astonishing winning run continued as he claimed the Players Championship Finals for a third consecutive year. The World No.1 thrashed Welshman Jonny Clayton to take the big prize in Minehead yet again. There were two big all Unicorn clashes on the opening afternoon of the Players Championship Finals. Gary Anderson will be kicking himself.  He lost the most dramatic semi-final in the history of the Grand Slam as he was beaten 16-15 by Peter Wright. The only time Wright was ahead in the entire match was when he landed the winning D16.  Anderson will be heartbroken. Gary Anderson's brilliant run at the 2017 Grand Slam continued on Friday night at the Wolverhampton Civic.
