Molten/Super League Award (Women) - Defensive Team of the Year

Super League Basketball has announced the Molten All-Defensive Team of the Year, determined by a voting process involving the League's Head Coaches and Captains.

Topping the roster is B. Braun Sheffield Hatters forward Megan Mullings, who received 16 of a possible 18 votes. While Mullings is equally capable of making her mark offensively, it is her defensive work that truly stands out on closer inspection - forcing turnovers, disrupting shots and organising those around her with sharp communication.

Few names are as synonymous with this award as Shanice Beckford-Norton. The Oaklands Wolves guard earned 12 selections, marking her fifth appearance in six All-Defensive Team rosters. A relentless bundle of energy and intensity, the GB international continues to set the tone defensively for her side in a way that has become almost impossible to put into words.

Newcastle Eagles teammates Shanique Lucas and Andrea Daley both feature on this year's roster. Lucas earns her second consecutive inclusion, having first appeared last season with Durham Palatinates, and ranks second in the league for steals at 2.7 per game. Daley goes one better, leading the league at 2.8 steals per game in what has been an outstanding rookie campaign on both ends of the floor.

Rounding out the roster is Caledonia Gladiators guard Anastasia Warren, who collected seven selections. The American third-year guard has been pivotal in helping Caledonia secure second place in the Championship and reach the Trophy Final, with the Gladiators still harbouring hopes of further silverware at The O2 on May 17.
