Around The World - October

By Ryan Segal

We waltzed into October and into the Mattioli Arena, as the World Grand Prix kicked off the 10th month of 2025.

Cameron Menzies was the first member of Team Unicorn to take to the stage - and set the standard for his teammates, defeating Chris Dobey 2-0 for his first ever win in the tournament - a result that also rocketed him into the World's Top 32 for the first ime.

James Wade couldn't follow Cammy's lead, going out 0-2 to Joe Cullen.

Gary Anderson, however, did join Cameron in the second round - but in decidedly more dramatic fashion, getting past Raymond van Barneveld in a last leg decider.

Ross Smith rounded off the first round action for the team, losing to former champion Daryl Gurney.

Team Unicorn's flag had a decidedly blue and white tone going into R2 - and that tone was only sharpened by the results, as Cammy overcame Rob Cross, and Gary cruised past Joe Cullen.

There was potential for a Semi-Final meeting between them - but neither would make it that far, as both suffered 1-3 defeats in the Quarter-Finals.

Attention then turned from the Midlands to the South, and the Modus Super Series.

It was an all Team Unicorn affair in the final of Week 6, with David Evans and Ash Coleman vying for a spot in Champions Week.

The match went all the way, and it was Stretch who captured the crown 4-3.

That same weekend, the Development Tour wrapped up for 2025.

Owen Bates secured a spot at Ally Pally with a 3rd place finish on the OoM, also earning two more years on the tour as a result of his performances.

He'll be joined at the World Championship by Charlie Manby, who broke the tour record average in what was an eye catching season.

Eyes then turned back to the Pro Tour, with the penultimate block of events taking place in Wigan.

James Wade played well to reach the Quarter-Final at PC31, being defeated in a last leg decider to Nathan Aspinall.

Adam Hunt progressed the furthest at PC32, reaching the L16.

It was then all eyes on the very familiar Halle 39 in Hildesheim, as the curtain came down on the European Tour for the season.

Cameron Menzies made yet another final day, defeating Wesley Plaisier and Rob Cross, before departing the event.

Tom Sykes then launched a campaign to design him a new shirt - I maintain he'd look striking in amber and blue, and with a rhino on his chest - but I don't think he'd take to that.

We then hit a big week of the year:

The one week countdown began ahead of the first part of our product launch, we took over Darts Corner, and the European Championship got under way.

You couldn't look away - and Ross Smith certainly didn't, sweeping aside Peter Wright in his opener in Dortmund.

Cammy and Gary faced off in a game that guaranteed both success and sadness - with Cammy progressing 6-3 against The Flying Scotsman.

James Wade joined Ross and Cammy in the second round, steamrolling Mike De Decker to book his place.

The Machine marched on to the L8, casting aside Luke Littler in typical Wade fashion.

Although his journey ended in the Quarters, it was still a fine run from the Aldershot thrower.

We then headed to Hampshire once more, as the success at the Super Series continued, with Tom Sykes winning his fourth weekly crown, and booking his spot in Champions Week.

It was then back to Wigan for the last Players Championships of the year, with Cameron Menzies reaching the L16 at PC33, and Adam Paxton reaching the same stage at PC34.

No members of Team Unicorn progressed through the Grand Slam qualifiers, with Mensur Suljovic coming closest, losing to Ricky Evans in the final round.

Whilst all this was going on in Lancashire - our 2026 range was being unveiled to the world.

9 new player darts, our advanced new Hexium darts, 7 new Forge Colourways, new Callan Rydz and Cameron Menzies shirts - And a range of new cases, including Rydz & Menzies cases, Forge cases, and stunning new Vanguard cases.

And that's just Part 1...

A month of successes on and off the oche for Team Unicorn - Here's to more in November!
