Cameron Menzies has said that fixture repetition "doesn't have an effect" as he prepares to face Chris Dobey on the stage for the third time in a month at the World Grand Prix.
The 36 year old Muirkirk thrower is taking part in just his second World Grand Prix, with his opening round opponent being more familiar than the Grand Prix stage.
On debut last year, it didn't quite go to plan for Cammy, as he was nilled by Dave Chisnall in his opener.
He believes, however, that the experience will serve him well this time round:
"I think the only way is up after last year.
Hopefully I'm a bit more relaxed and enjoy it more, rather than trying too hard and overthinking it."
With it being just his second appearance at the double start event, he's guaranteed money on his ranking - but he's not thinking about prize money defence this season:
"This year's pretty much a free hit, because I don't have much to defend.
Next year is obviously a different story.
Obviously they're all quality players here, so everyone needs something special to win."
And on how he'll tailor his practice for the unique format:
"I'll have a couple of hours a day at the board.
I may emphasize a bit more on that double start.
I did that last time and my double start was fine.
But it was my scoring - I was going high on the T20 because I was practicing Tops so much. (chuckle)
That's the pros and cons of it.
It's been quite difficult, because obviously we've just finished playing a Pro Tour - So I was just doing normal practice there."
As mentioned, it's yet another tie against 'Hollywood' Chris Dobey, with recent encounters in the book at the World Series Finals and European Tour 12. Both went Dobey's way, but that doesn't weigh on Cammy's mind heading into the game:
"Hopefully it's a lot closer than it was in the World Series - and hopefully I play a little better!
It doesn’t have an effect, because sometimes you do play certain players a lot.
It's just the way the draws go.
So I don't really think about that too much - I try and play what's in front of me more than anything else these days."
Cameron Menzies faces Chris Dobey in the third game of the evening session on Monday, commencing at approximately 19:00 BST.
