Around The World - November

November kicked off with a celebration, as Tom Sykes celebrated his 33rd birthday - with the celebrations continuing as Bob Anderson turned 78 a few days later.

As we took our party hats off, we put Wolverhampton into the Sat-Nav for the Grand Slam.

Gary Anderson and James Wade were flying the Team Unicorn flag at the WV Active Aldersley - but got off to losing starts in their respective groups, going down to Niko Springer and Stefan Bellmont respectively.

The Flying Scotsman kept hopes of continuing his 100% qualification rate alive the following day, with a tight win over Beau Greaves - But The Machine's elimination was confirmed by defeat to Gerwyn Price.

The campaign ended on a high for our Aldershot thrower, however, as he beat Ricky Evans to close Group D.

Gary, meanwhile, had a straight shootout with old rival Michael van Gerwen to progress - but he was unable to overcome a 108 average from the Dutchman, as both our boys departed Wolverhampton with two points from three games.

Which is impressive considering that the football team is on that total after 13 Premier League games...

We then turned to the far east, as Team Unicorn in Japan enjoyed some success, with Momoka Hayashi finishing third at Stage 14, before she went one better, winning Stage 15 in Miyagi.

She was joined in the Stage 15 winners circle by YÅ«bara RyÅ«ta, who won the men's side of the event, meaning double delight for Team Unicorn.

The success kept flowing, as back on the South Coast of England, our mercurial Charlie Manby picked up his first Modus Super Series crown, marking yet another step along his journey of exponential potential.

We then had part two of our 2026 launch - and the range is as beautiful as it is game changing.

The Player Wraiths combine the signature barrels of some our top pros with our patented Wraith grip, to create some of the most elegant darts ever produced by Unicorn.

(Side note - I actually hit a 180 with the Callan Rydz Wraiths at the launch, witnessed by The Magician Darts and Aden Kirk...just saying).

With the new range making waves around the darting world, attentions turned to Somerset for a second time in 2025, as the Players Championship Finals got underway in Minehead.

Seven members of Team Unicorn made the trip - with four progressing past their opener. Ian White, Cameron Menzies, and Darren Beveridge (our only debutant) all put in valiant showings in their opening round defeats.

Callan Rydz defeated Kevin Doets, Ross Smith crushed Ryan Meikle, Gary cruised past Mario Vandenbogaerde, and James defeated Mickey Mansell in a battle of the left handers.

James was the only one to go beyond he L32, sealing his spot with a 6-4 win over Peter Wright.

Though, a special mention is due to Smudger, who averaged 102 in defeat to Luke Littler.

And, like the ticking of a clock, The Machine reached another quarter final, defeating Andrew Gilding.

That was as far as this particular journey would go, however, as Jermaine Wattimena snuck through, grabbing a break that The Machine just couldn't recover from.

The Monday after heralded a mega week - with three members of Team Unicorn at Modus Super Series Champions Week, the TCH Qualifier for Alexandra Palace - and the draw for Worlds.

Adam Hunt secured his spot at the Palace in the last chance saloon, and became the 14th member of Team Unicorn in the showpiece event for 2026.

Although Adam Paxton didn't join him in qualifying, he celebrated his birthday that same day - and had a "nice chocolate" cake in the evening.

The draw then took place - and we're guaranteed a minimum of two members of Team Unicorn in the L64, with two all Unicorn affairs drawn out of the hat. A full preview for Ally Pally is to come.

Back to Champions Week in Pompey, from those three Unicorn players involved, we had two finalists. David Evans put up a valiant effort in the circumstances he faced, but it was a Tom Sykes v Charlie Manby final to become Series Champion.

We were desperate for both to win - but a record breaking 103.88 average from Champagne saw him take the crown, and prepare perfectly for the iconic Ally Pally stage.

So, that was November. With darts to release and a World Championship to play, December promises to be an absolute spectacle for Team Unicorn.
